SIA Conducts Raids Across Kashmir in UAPA Case

 

Srinagar, Oct 8 (KNS):The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday carried out raids at multiple locations across the Kashmir Valley as part of its probe into a case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), officials said.

According to officials, the searches were conducted in the districts of Anantnag, Kulgam, and Baramulla. In north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, SIA teams raided several places in Rafiabad and Sopore areas. In south Kashmir, searches were held in Padapora Badasgam area of Anantnag and the Kalam area of Kulgam district.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Officials said incriminating documents and materials were seized during the operation. The searches are part of an ongoing investigation into activities related to the UAPA case.

Under the UAPA, investigating agencies are allowed 180 days to file a chargesheet after an arrest, which can be extended with the court’s approval. The Act carries life imprisonment or the death penalty as the maximum punishment.
