Rivers in Samba, Udhampur, Kathua Cross Danger Mark; Flood Alarm in Jammu Region

Jammu, Aug 26 (KNS): Several rivers and streams across Jammu region have crossed danger and evacuation levels by noon on Tuesday, raising fresh flood concerns amid continuous rainfall.

In Samba district, Basenter River surged to a record 9.0 ft, well above the evacuation level, while Devak River also crossed its danger mark of 4.3 ft, just six inches short of evacuation level. Bein Nallah is flowing close to the alert level of 3.3 ft.

In Udhampur, River Tawi is flowing 7 feet above the evacuation mark, its highest alarm level.

In Kathua, Tarnah River has touched the danger mark of 4.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel6 ft, while Ujh Nallah at Panjtirthi and Kathua has risen above evacuation levels. Ravi River is also flowing near the danger mark.

In Jammu district, Tawi at Jammu has reached the alert level of 14 ft, while Chenab at Akhnoor is at 30 ft 8 inches—just 1 ft 4 inches below flood alert. Balole Nallah remains in the safe zone, flowing 4 ft 8 inches below alert level.

In Poonch, Suran River, Poonch River and Mendhar Nallah are flowing well below alert levels.
