Retired Employees of Budgam Submit Memorandum, Demand 8th Pay Commission and Higher Medical Allowance

Budgam, June 23 (KNS): In response to a nationwide call by the All India Pensioners’ Federation, hundreds of retired employees from various departments in Budgam gathered to submit a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner, raising long-pending demands for their welfare.

The retired employees, who served in different government sectors, voiced their concerns about the delay in the implementation of the 8th Pay Commission. They demanded that the government issue the commission at the earliest to ensure fair revision of their pensions.

The pensioners expressed disappointment over the lack of attention to their issues. They said that after serving the nation for decades, they are now struggling to make ends meet and deserve a dignified life in retirement. They warned that if their demands are not addressed soon, they will be forced to take to the streets in a peaceful and democratic manner.

The memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner lists all their major concerns and urges the government to take swift and positive action. (KNS)
