Respect each other’s religion, uphold constitutional values, J-K HC Judge on Constitution day

Srinagar, Nov 26 (KNS): The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority, on Wednesday observed Constitution Day 2025, reaffirming the constitutional values of equality and secularism.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Sanjeev Kumar, Judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, underscored the relevance of secularism as articulated in the Constitution.

“The Preamble captures the essence of the entire Constitution. Today is an occasion to read it and reinforce the values it embodies.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWe are a secular democratic republic, and secularism must be understood in the constitutional context, not in the way it is often interpreted publicly,” Justice Kumar said.

Calling for harmony and mutual respect among citizens, he added: “Let us respect each other, uplift one another, and honour each other’s religion.”

The programme included the formal reading of the Preamble, led by Justice Kumar and joined by other judges of the High Court.(KNS).
