Shopian, July 24 (KNS): Residents of Astan Mohalla Pinjura in South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday staged a protest against the Jal Shakti department and alleged them of playing step-mothers role to a particular area.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the residents while chanting slogans in favor of meeting their demands, appealed authorities to restore water supply in the area.
They alleged that amid scorching heat, the department disconnected the water supply to the area leaving people to suffer.

When KNS contacted AEE Jal Shakti Mohamamd Mueed, he contested the claims and said the water pipe has been damaged yesterday in a quarrel that happened between two localities in the area. (KNS)
