Apni Party leader slams unkept promises, urges resolution of key public issues

Srinagar, June 21 (KNS): Apni Party Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir on Saturday said that the current reservation policy needs to be reformed to ensure it benefits only the truly deserving, without compromising merit.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mir criticized both the government and opposition parties for failing to fulfill their promises, particularly on statehood and power reforms. “Reservation is a serious issue. It should help the needy, not be used to sideline merit or mislead the public,” he said.

He also said that the National Conference's past commitments, especially on the restoration of Article 370 and statehood. “They promised much, delivered little, and people trusted those who had no real power.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The grassroots Panchayat system has been hijacked by MLAs, blocking real decentralization of power. He accused political parties of using emotions during elections but failing to perform once in office, Mir said.

Despite not being in power, Mir said the Apni Party will continue to be the voice of the people. “Even outside the assembly, we will play the role of a responsible opposition,” he added.

Calling for reconciliation and forward movement, he urged both the Government of India and regional leadership to work toward peace. “We must stop living in the past and take steps for a stable future,” Mir said.(KNS)
