Ram Janam Bhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute remains a test for India’s secularism: Targami

Srinagar, Dec 06 (KNS): CPI (M) leader M.Y. Tarigami on Thursday said, “the lessons have to be learnt. There can be no compromise with those who have been desperately trying to dismantle India’s secular fabric. Those forces who are hell bent to divide the ranks of people and instigate them must be isolated. The agenda of Sangh Parivar to install a Hindu Rashtra will only lead to demolishing the idea of India. Their efforts only amount to negation of the vision of Babasaheb Ambedkar. Any compromise and appeasement of the communal forces will only encourage and strengthen the divisive forces. There is only one option i.e to stand firm in defence of secularism and values of tolerance and brotherhood.”
In a statement issued to KNS, Tarigami said that the attempts to subvert the constitutional provisions in the name of “faith” should not be allowed to succeed.
“All the well meaning and right thinking people must poll their resources and maximize their efforts to unitedly resolve, on this day to defeat the disruptive agenda of communal forces,” he added. (KNS)
