Handwara ,14 July (KNS): The residents of Rajpora Rajwar continue to face severe water shortages despite the recent installation of a new PHE water pipeline. Locals report that the pipeline was damaged shortly after being laid, leaving the community in the same state of distress as before.
Despite repeated promises, the availability of drinking water remains a major issue. Many residents are still struggling to access clean water, with some even being forced to walk long distances daily. The memory of a tragic incident just a year ago-where four members of a single household reportedly lost their lives due to water-related hardships still haunts the village.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
In a heartfelt appeal, the villagers have urged MLA Handwara, DC Kupwara, and senior officials of the PHE Department to urgently intervene and personally investigate the matter.
When approached, the Executive Engineer of PHE Division Handwara assured that the contractor responsible will not be paid until the pipeline is fully repaired and functional.
The residents hope that their voices will be heard and the matter resolved quickly, so they can finally have access to something as basic as clean drinking water. (KNS)
