Srinagar, Apr 09 (KNS): A cop and a RSS affiliate were on Tuesday killed after unidentified gunmen fired upon them in the premises of District Hospital Kishtwar.

The deceased cop was identified as Rajinder Kumar, a Personal Security Officer (PSO) of RSS leader Chandrakant Singh, who was also a Medical Assistant, posted at District hospital.

The cop as per sources died on spot while as the RSS affiliate had sustained injuries in the firing incident who was later rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Angrez Singh while talking to KNS said that a RSS affiliate and his PSO were killed in the attack following which restrictions were imposed in the town to thwart any possible protest.

He added that the situation was under control, saying there was no communal threat so far. (KNS)
