Srinagar, June 15 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference President and MLA Handwara, Sajad Gani Lone, today chaired two crucial organizational meetings for Handwara and Trehgam constituencies. The sessions witnessed enthusiastic participation of party members, reflecting a firm resolve to fortify the party’s presence in the region.
The meetings, held in a spirit of commitment and clarity of purpose, were also graced by the presence of party’s Chief Spokesperson Advocate Bashir Ahmad Dar, DDC Chairman Kupwara Irfan Pandithpori, District President Hafizullah Mir and Mudasir Akbar, among other senior functionaries and unit representatives.
Addressing the gatherings, Lone underscored the urgent need to invigorate party cadres, deepen public outreach and stay closely aligned with the grassroots realities. He reaffirmed that JKPC remains a people-centric movement committed to the welfare and aspirations of the masses.
"Our party is born out of the pain and struggles of our people. Serving them is not just a political commitment but a moral obligation. Unfortunately, the current dispensation that was elected with much hope has abandoned that very moral compass,” he remarked.
In a sharp critique of the ruling regime, Lone said the present NC-led government has proven to be a spectacle of failure, competent only in pursuing its own vested interests and bureaucratic maneuvering, particularly the arbitrary transfers of officials to far-flung areas.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“They are swift and decisive when it serves their personal motives, but when confronted with public issues, their standard reply is ‘Hamaare haath mein kuch nahi hai’. This repeated abdication of responsibility is not just ineptitude but a betrayal of the public trust,” Lone asserted.
He further lambasted the ruling party for turning governance into an act of helplessness, stating that a government which rushes for selfish gains but drags its feet on people’s miseries has lost the very legitimacy to govern.
“They have reduced public service to slogans and symbolism, while people continue to suffer under broken promises. This is not governance, it’s a mockery of the mandate they were given,” he added.
The twin meetings concluded with a unanimous reaffirmation by the party leadership and members to strengthen the organizational framework, amplify grassroots engagement and uphold the party’s founding ideals amid growing disillusionment with the present government.(KNS)
