Principal Secy Tourism reviews progress on Jammu ropeway project

Srinagar, Aug 04 (KNS): Principal Secretary to Government Tourism, Industries and Commerce Department Navin Kumar Choudhary today inspected the sites of prestigious Jammu Ropeway Project and took detailed stock of the progress of the project.

Managing Director, J&K Cable Car Corporation, Shamim Ahmad Wani, Director Tourism Jammu, Deepika Kumari Sharma, Managing Director JKTDC, Asgar Hussain along with other officers of Tourism Department, JKSCCC, JKTDC, M/s RITES accompanied the Principal Secretary.

The Principal Secretary took ride of both phases of the Ropeway from Bahu to Mahamaya and Mahamaya to Peerkho and was briefed that the construction of other allied works along with landscaping at all the three stations stands completed.

While reviewing the progress of JRP work, the Principal Secretary directed to complete the finishing works within shortest period of time and make necessary arrangements for soft launch of the Jammu cable car at an earliest and also directed to organise a pre-launch FAM tour of Print & Electronic media.

The Principal Secretary observed that this project after commissioning would goa long way in promotion of tourism in Jammu region, which would in turn give a fillip to the economy of the areas by way of generating ample job opportunities for the people related with tourist activities as well as the youth.
