Condemns killing of Kupwara student

Srinagar, Jul 12 (KNS): The present freedom struggle of Kashmir is the part of the movement started by the martyrs of 1931," Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday said in a statement.
Condemning the killing of student Khalid Gafar Malik, resident of Trehgam Kupwara who was killed in army firing ,Geelani said that our youth are mercilessly being killed by Indian forces saying the nefarious designs of Indian forces is to prolong the prevailing fearful atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir to suppress the freedom sentiments of the people.
In a statement issued to KNS, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his heartfelt grief over the killing of minor Saliq Iqbal and those seriously injured in Meminder Shopian in an explosion and extended his sympathies to grieved families. Praying for speedy recovery for injured children, Geelani said that death dance and prevailing dreadful conditions is taking the death toll off our youth.
Paying his rich tributes to 13th July martyrs, Geelani said that they with their blood created history and terming these martyrs as mile stone of the freedom movement. Geelani said that though they laid down their precious lives for sacred cause, yet the mission remains unfinished and added that ongoing freedom struggle is in sequence and a chain of the very mission commenced in 1931.
Remembering 13th July martyrs including Ab Khaliq Shora, Mohammad Akbar Dar, Gh Ahmad Rather, Mohammad Usman Misger, Gh Ahmad Bhat, Gh Mohammad Halvai, Gh Nabi Kalwal, Gh Ahmad Naqash, Gh Rasool Dar, Ameer u Din Makai, Mohd Subhan Makai, Gh Qadir Khan, Mohd Ramzan Chola, Gh Mohammad Sofi, Nasur u Din, Ameer-u-Din Jandgaro, Mohammad Subhan Khan, Mohd Sultan Khan, Ab Salam, Gh Mohammad Teli, Faqeer Ali, Gh Ahmad Dar, Mugli and Mohammad Abdullah Ahangar and reiterated his pledge saying we should continue our struggle till the goal of right to self-determination is achieved, added Geelani.
Syed Ali Geelani in his appeal to nation asked to “safeguard sacrifices of youth to sustain the cause, saying, ’we need to sustain our persistence and exhibit same sentiments in future too as we have rendered enormous and valuable sacrifices,” the veteran pro-freedom leader said. “We need to safeguard these sacrifices. Even a slight blunder or mistake can prolong our struggle,” he added. (KNS)
