Srinagar, Oct 18 (KNS): Islamic University of Science and Technology has postponed its scheduled convocation for tomorrow following the death of Zahid Rasool Bhat, who succumbed to his burn injuries suffered in an attack by petrol-bombs by a mob in Udhampur on October 9.
A government spokesman in a statement to KNS said that Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who is also the Chancellor of the Islamic University of Science & Technology, Awantipora, has ordered postponement of the first ever Convocation of the varsity after the tragic death of Zahid Rasool Bhat.
Meanwhile, Borad of School Education (BOSE) and Kashmir University have also postponed all the examinations scheduled for tomorrow due to the situation arising after death of Zahid.
“All the exams scheduled to be held on Monday have been postponed and fresh dates will be announced separately”, BOSE spokesman told KNS.
Similarly, KU spokesman told KNS that all the examinations scheduled to be held on Monday are postponed, adding, that fresh dates for these examinations will be issues separately. (KNS)
