Police booked Mubeen Shah for a FB post against domicile law

Srinagar, June 29 (KNS): J&K Police has booked Mubeen Shah, a Kashmiri born businessman over his fresh Facebook post against the newly drafted Domicile Law. The text has gone viral and shared by infinite number of netizens.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Shah who is currently in Malaysia and was released in December last year after serving the post-August 5, 2019 detention in J&K when New Delhi stripped J&K special status under Article 370 from its Constitution and bifurcated the erstwhile state into two Union Territories (UTs) – J&K and Ladakh.
Sources said that Shah has been booked after he asked people of Kashmir to raise a collective voice against “settler-colonialism” through social media post.
On June 26, Shah wrote on Facebook, “All village/mohalla/town committees of Kashmir should come together and make sure that not a single non-local lives in their areas. They should ask all non-Kashmiris to vacate and leave Kashmir. Each and every local committee must do its part”.
The FB post further reads, “All of these committees should give clear instructions to people that anyone who tries to give space to non-locals will be socially boycotted and anyone who tries to sell land to any non-Kashmiri will be socially boycotted as well as evicted from the area”.
“These committees should also make it clear that any tehsildar or any administrator who's found to have given domicile to any non-Kashmiri will also be socially boycotted. The social boycott against these people should be very strict”, Shah mentioned in his post.
He further wrote, “They shouldn't be allowed to enter into the village/mohalla/town and no one should speak to them or their families or do any kind of work with them. We should think of other efficient measures as well to stop India from changing the demographics of Kashmir”.
While appealing Kashmir’s to challenge the present circumstances, Shah wrote “It's most important for all Kashmiris to come together at this very important stage and collectively fight against settler-colonialism. It's now or never. It's do or die. All of us have to join hands and fight now!”.
However in another FB post, Shah wrote, “I find it the only way to stop this settler program in India. Let us do it”.
It is pertinent to mention that Shah was among hundreds of detainees who had been kept into ‘preventive custody’ by J&K authorities on August 5, 2019 hours after New Delhi scrapped Article 370 to thwart any untoward situation. He was lodged in Srinagar Jail for some days after which he along with dozens were shifted to Agra. Later on he was released on December 2019 after his PSA was quashed. (KNS)
