Pensioners United Front, Civil Society Hold Convention in Bandipora

Bandipora, Nov 6 (KNS): The Pensioners United Front, in collaboration with members of the civil society, on Wednesday organised a one-day convention at Bagh Bandipora to deliberate on issues and grievances faced by pensioners across the district.

The convention witnessed active participation of retired employees and community representatives who expressed serious concern over delays in pension disbursement, inadequate welfare measures, and the slow implementation of existing government schemes.

Prominent speakers on the occasion included former trade union leader and Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Civil Society forum Ab Qayoom Wani, G.M. Lone, President civil society forum Bandipora, and Mohammad Rafiq Parrey, president JKPUF.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe speakers underscored the need for timely redressal of pensioners’ issues and called for greater administrative accountability and empathy toward senior citizens who have devoted decades of service to society.

They urged the government to streamline pension-related processes, enhance welfare measures, and ensure that no pensioner is left to suffer due to procedural delays.

The convention concluded with a unanimous resolution to continue constructive engagement with the district administration for early and effective resolution of all pension-related matters and social matters. (KNS)
