Jammu, Jul 22 (KNS): Jammu unit of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday staged protest against lodging of an FIR against Tak Firdous Ex MLC and other party leaders, by Kishtwar police, seeking immediate withdrawal of case.

Led by Parvez Waffa, PDP youth leader, the party workers assembled in front of Press Club and raised slogan against lodging of FIR against Tak Firdous Ex MLC and Youth President Wasil Doolwal besides others by Kishtwar police.

Waffa as per a statement issued to KNS demanded immediate withdrawal of FIR and appealed administration to do serious rethinking of arming civilians in Chenab region for it can have serious ramifications and vitiate peace and communal harmony of the region.

He further said that if FIR is not withdrawn against Ex Legislator the protests shall continue and will be intensified throughout the province. He said that frivolous case is only an attempt to silence dissent and opposition and administration was clearly biased. He said that party leaders have represented aspiration of people and right of protest has been granted by our law and constitution.

Waffa said that forces aiming to further vitiate atmosphere in the state will not be allowed to succeed. "We will fight against divisive and disastrous plans,” he said. (KNS)
