PDP files PIL against highway ban, hearing tomorrow: Mehbooba

Srinagar, Apr 08 (KNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has independently filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the ban on civilian traffic on Kashmir highway and the case is likely to come up for hearing tomorrow.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), PDP chief and former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti said, “senior PDP leader Naeem Akhtar today filed a Public Interest litigation (PIL) against the highway closure ban by the government in J&K high court through Sr Advocate and former Advocate General of the state Jehangir Iqbal Ganai.
“The PIL is likely to be considered by honorable Division Bench tomorrow,” she said.

It is in place to mention here that Mehbooba had threatened to take the legal course against the ban on civilian traffic on Kashmir highway and her party filed a PIL through senior Advocate and former Advocate General Jehangir Iqbal Ganai Monday morning. (KNS)
