Demands constitution of House Committee to probe matter

Srinagar, Jan 16 (KNS): The ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) legislator on Tuesday created ruckus in the upper house of the state legislature, accusing NC MLA of land grab in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
According to the KNS correspondent, ahead of the question hour in the state legislative council, PDP MLC Yasir Reshi stood up from his place and sought immediate attention of the house towards the alleged land grab done by the NC MLA in central Kashmir. Reshi accused the former legislative assembly speaker and MLA Sonawari Mohammad Akbar Lone of grabbing two to three kanals of land at Friends Colony, Humhama, the present value of the property as per Reshi is about more than three crore rupees.
Reshi stated that he has been raising the issue of the MLA in question since long but the government hasn’t taking any action. He demanded the constitution of a House Committee that could probe the matter thoroughly so that the involved could be brought to the book.
Reshi said that it is must that the government must initiate a high level probe to investigate the matter and take action against the law maker.
Later, the house chairman, Haji Inayat Ali tried to pacify the agitating PDP legislator and assured that requisite action will be initiated to probe the allegations that he has levelled against the NC MLA who in the past has served as speaker of the legislative assembly and minister for Higher Education.
