Kupwara, Jul 27 (KNS): Although as per Right to Information RTI guidelines, the respondent must provide the information within a month’s period of submission of application under RTI Act 2009, but Power Development Department (PDD) division Kupwara has ‘denied’ the same to an applicant.

Wasim Majnoon Mir, a local RTI activist said he had filed an RTI application on 01-03-2018 to PDD division Kupwara to seek information about expenditure of funds, details of employees, amount released, supply order, details of tenders and quotations thereof and details of vouchers from 2015 onwards in the Division,

“But the concerned Xen failed to provide information within time period,” he said, adding, “The delay itself indicates that there is something wrong in the Division Kupwara about funds." (KNS)
