Seeks public holiday to honour Martyrs who "Voiced Truth from Pulpit of Justice"
Srinagar, July 12 (KNS): The People's Alliance For Change (PAC) has issued a powerful statement paying tribute to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, while strongly reiterating its demand for the date to be declared a public holiday in their honor.
In a moving tribute released today, PAC stated, "People's Alliance For Change (PAC) solemnly bows its head in tribute to the valiant martyrs of 13 July 1931 — brave souls who stood defiant in the face of tyranny and fell while voicing truth from the pulpit of justice."
The newly formed political allaince emphasized the selfless nature of the martyrs' sacrifice, declaring that "their sacrifice was not for personal ambition, but for the awakening of a people." PAC made its primary demand explicit in the statement: "Let it be clear: we strongly reiterate our demand that July 13 be declared a public holiday, in honor of these martyrs.
