Srinagar, 10 Sept (KNS) : The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President Kashmir Advocate Showkat Ahmad Mir Thursday hailed the people-friendly and welfare oriented measures undertaken by Omar Abdullah government. He said that the government has made significant progress in the areas of public welfare, development and provision of basic amenities.
In a statement issued here, He said that this progress has left opponents, including the BJP and PDP, rattled, prompting them to resort to misleading statements, false propaganda and fabricated narratives. However, he said, the people of Kashmir are well aware of the intentions and past record of these “self-serving and Kashmir-opposed parties.”
Interacting with party functionaries, workers and various public delegations from different areas at the party headquarters, Showkat Mir said that the positive impact of the public-oriented measures taken by the Omar Abdullah government over the past two years is reaching the people.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that providing relief to the people remains the government’s foremost priority and that every decision and initiative is being undertaken keeping public interests at the centre. From the very first day, he said, the government began taking decisions aimed at public welfare and continues to work along the same lines.
Showkat Mir said that the National Conference would continue its selfless service to the people and pursue its struggle for development, prosperity and justice while giving voice to public aspirations.
He urged party office-bearers and workers to put in their utmost efforts to further strengthen the party and maintain close contact with the people. He asked workers to remain with the people in their times of happiness and distress, understand their problems and difficulties, and use their influence to help resolve them.(KNS)
