Srinagar, Dec 17 (KNS): After remaining closed for four days due to inclement weather conditions, Srinagar-Jammu National Highway remained open for one-way traffic on Tuesday.
A Traffic police official said traffic was allowed to move from Srinagar to Jammu on Tuesday. However he said, the traffic was only allowed to move the highway after 1 pm, as frsh landslides had occurred at Digdol and Shatani Nallah area during the night.
“The traffic was allowed to move only after the fresh landslides were cleared,” he said and added subject to weather and condition of the road traffic will ply from Jammu to Srinagar on Wednesday.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
However, sources told KNS that the traffic was halted on the highway till afternoon due to the movement of security convoys. “Due to the closure of the highway for four days, the security convoys were stranded in Jammu and Udhampur and till they passed, movement of civilian traffic was halted,” they added.
