Jammu, Sep 23 (KNS): Northern Railway has extended the trip period of special train service between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra in view of the expected rush of passengers, particularly devotees, during the upcoming Navratri and Diwali festivals.

According to a statement issued by Northern Railway's Jammu Division on Wednesday, Train No. 04081 from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra will make 14 additional trips between October 12 and October 25.

Similarly, Train No. 04082 from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi will operate 14 trips from October 13 to October 26.

The extension has been announced to facilitate rail passengers travelling to Katra and Jammu during the festive season and to cater to the additional rush of devotees visiting the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine.

The train will halt at Panipat, Kurukshetra, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar Cantt, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu and Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan railway stations on its route.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Northern Railway said the additional trips would provide relief to passengers travelling between New Delhi, Jammu and Katra, besides helping accommodate the extra rush and reducing pressure on regular trains.

The railway administration said the service was also expected to help reduce the waiting list and provide greater availability of confirmed tickets during the festive period.

The train will comprise a total of 21 LHB coaches, while its route, timetable and scheduled halts will remain unchanged.

Passengers have been advised to check the train status before commencing their journey through the Rail Madad helpline at 139, the NTES app or the Railway Enquiry Centre.
