Beerwah, Mar 23 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir National conference women’s wing President Shameema Firdous on Wednesday said that there are no buyers for Mehbooba Mufti’s crocodile tears saying that no sheer theatrics can absolve her of the wrongs she committed on state, its people and its special position.
Addressing a convention of party’s women’s wing at Chaira, Beerwah Shameema Firdous, while questioning the veracity of Mehbooba’s concern for the miseries of the people of state, said, “One may inquire from her as to where she was when the people of Kashmir were subjected to worst of human rights violations. It was during her tenure that people were used as human shield; where was her sympathy and empathy for those who were blinded, bruised during her tenure,” adding that the new theatrics of Mehbooba is aimed to cover her disastrous unjust and corrupt tenure.
Lashing out at PDP for bartering and betraying the mandate of people, Shameema said, “Now that the trumpet of elections has been blown, it is the right time to ask questions from PDP. The same PDP that sought votes in 2014 assembly elections at the pretext of keeping BJP out of power. But the same PDP berated and bartered the mandate of people by joining the same BJP for the lust of power,” she said.
Ridiculing PDP President for her political election time tears, she said, “Had PDP president and the ex-Chief minister shed tears when our youth were devoured upon in 2016, it would have had any impact. People are a good judge of character of PDP and its stint in power. The hobnobbing of PDP with BJP unleashed plethora of miseries on the people of state in particular the people of valley.”
She urged the people to strengthen the efforts of Omar Abdullah to rescue the state towards safer shores. “With Omar sahib in vanguard of the new government, the state will make fast strides in every sector ranging from economy to education. The idea of development is vague without ensuring equitable development of Women folks. Emancipation of women has always been a corner stone of the deployment policy of national conference. Once in power we will make effective policies for women,” she said. (KNS)
