Udhampur ,7 Nov (KNS) :In a major crackdown under the new criminal laws sec 107 BNSS, empowering attachment of proceeds of crime, Udhampur Police has attached properties worth ?1.15 crore belonging to habitual bovine smugglers in eight cases registered at Police Stations Chenani, Rehambal, Udhampur and Majalta of District Udhampur.
The attached properties include seven Tata pick-up trucks and one truck , valued at ?1.15 crore, all found involved in bovine smuggling across the district.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Investigating officers during their enquiries have concluded that these properties have been raised from proceeds of crime and after obtaining orders from competent courts have attached these propeties thereby striking against financial assets of Bovine smuggling nexus.
Udhampur Police is the first in the UT of J&K to attach properties of bovine smugglers under the new criminal laws, marking a landmark action against their financial networks.(KNS)
