Srinagar, May 30, (KNS): Taking a dig at Dr Farooq Abdullah led National Conference (NC), senior JKAP leader Ghulam Hassan Mir on Saturday said NC will be solely responsible for harming the remaining status of J&K if God forbid any untoward result will come out from delimitation process.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mir said the decision of boycotting to be a part of delimitation commission by National Conference is “sheer cheat “ and “deceit” with the electorate of J&K.

Mir said, “At a juncture when NC can represent the wishes and aspirations of people of J&K in a delimitation commission, it is very unfortunate they are boycotting the process” and added “As such NC is playing deceit politics with its electorate”.

He questioned when party still stands as part of parliament despite abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, then why it shies away to fulfill their responsibilities at this time.

“I think NC parliamentarians should take part in delimitation process, if there is no harm to be a parliamentarian despite abrogation of Article 370, then what prevents NC to take part in the commission?”, Mir said.

JKAP leader said if tomorrow any anti-Kashmir verdict comes out from the process, all responsibility lies on the shoulders of NC. He also said that one is unable to understand that the party boycotted Panchayat elections but later on jumped into LA polls.

When asked about the revocation of Article 370 by BJP government in Centre, Mir said we too denounced the decision as it was purely “undemocratic” and “unconstitutional” and added the Supreme Court (SC) is the best institution to set the things right.

“Our eyes are upon the Supreme Court (SC). Whatever the decision it will sound regarding Article 370, JKAP will welcome it wholeheartedly?”, Mir clarified.

About rumors of formation of interim government in J&K, Mir stated that it is just “media creation” and “far from realities”. He added we are still unaware about any such development and further added that “amendments can be done in constitution if there is any such proposal before central government”.

Meanwhile party source disclosed to KNS that if any offer comes from centre, JKAP will not hesitate to take part in delimitation commission.

He added that August 5, 2019 decision deprived J&K from special privileges and if today we will stay away from representing our own people the history will not forgive us.

“We have nothing left after abrogation of Article 370? We should rise according to challenges and raise voice for our people”, party source said. (KNS)
