Kupwara, July 15 (KNS) : In a vibrant celebration of World Youth Skills Day, the 7 J&K Battalion NCC organized a special event in Kupwara to emphasize the importance of skill development and self-reliance among youth. The event brought together NCC cadets from multiple institutions and highlighted the transformative power of practical skills.
The program was graced by Brig Deepak Sajjanhar, SM, Group Commander of NCC Group HQ Srinagar, who delivered an impactful address on the significance of skill-building in shaping confident, empowered citizens. “Skills are not just tools for livelihood but the foundation of self-confidence, national service, and empowerment,” he told the cadets.

Their life stories of civic engagement and agri-entrepreneurship resonated deeply with the cadets.
Ms. Jameela Begum shared her journey of promoting national values and active citizenship, while Ms. Mubeena Ali spoke about her successful mushroom cultivation venture, encouraging youth to explore opportunities in self-employment and agriculture.
The event supported the vision of the Skill India Mission and Atmanirbhar Bharat, inspiring cadets to blend practical skillsets with their NCC training. It also served as a call to action for youth to become future entrepreneurs and job creators, fostering a culture of innovation, independence, and service.
