Srinagar, Sep 03 (KNS): The BJP's Jammu and Kashmir unit has strongly refuted claims linking a party worker to a viral video showing a woman being molested during a protest at Hari Singh High Street, stating that the individual seen in the footage has no affiliation with the party.
Adv. Sajid Yousuf Shah, State Co-media Incharge of the BJP J&K, clarified in a statement issued to news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS) that following cross-verification with multiple sources, the man in the video was confirmed to be unaffiliated with the BJP. He emphasized that large public gatherings often attract unidentified individuals, whose actions cannot be attributed to the organizers or the party.

"We strongly condemn the incident. The individual seen in the video is not associated with the BJP in any capacity. It is imperative not to spread unverified information or falsely attribute the actions of an individual to the party," Adv. Shah stated.
He further confirmed that efforts are underway to identify the individual involved, as well as the portals responsible for revealing the victim's face. "Once identified, the matter should be allowed to take its own course in accordance with the law," he added, urging restraint in sharing unverified details. (KNS)
