Srinagar, Feb 18 (KNS): Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Monday expressed gratitude to the youth who voluntarily decided to guard him following the government withdrew his security cover on Sunday evening.
Earlier, hundreds of youth from different areas voluntarily come forward and decided to guard the top religious cleric to ensure his safety.
Awami Action Committee (AAC) youth President Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi said that at least 200 youth have enrolled themselves today at Mirwaiz Manzil in Rajouri Kadal and have decided to act as security of Mirwaiz.
He said the youth are enrolling themselves in large numbers at present and decision in this regard will be taken shortly.
In a tweet Hurriyat and AAC chairman thanked the youth for showing selfless love towards him.
“Moved by the love and affection of these young men, my gratitude to their selfless love,” Mirwaiz tweeted. (KNS)
