Srinagar, Dec 11(KNS): Apni Party leader Gulam Hussain Mir on Thursday called on the Government of India to actively engage with the people of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the youth, to rebuild trust and address lingering political and administrative concerns.
Speaking to reporters, Mir said the region has given the ruling party time to perform since the last elections, but public dissatisfaction has grown. “A lava has been cooked, people want to show their result. This is a sign of that,” he said, urging the Centre to take the first step in initiating dialogue.
Mir highlighted that political parties across the spectrum, including separatist groups and religious organisations, have recognised the need to directly communicate with the government to resolve issues. He stressed that misunderstandings and mistrust between the people and the Centre must be removed, calling the present period an “opportune time” to restore confidence.
The Apni Party leader also criticised the ruling party for unfulfilled promises, citing schemes such as the restoration of 370 units, free gas cylinders, and electricity benefits for households, and questioned the delay in their implementation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He called for urgent attention to the grievances of youth, temporary workers, and other sections facing administrative hurdles.
Mir also referred to pending issues related to employment, mining, and other local matters, urging authorities to take practical steps for public relief.
He stressed that while democratic dissent is acceptable, the government should take proactive measures to address grievances.
“The youth of Kashmir are crying. Their voices need to be heard. The Centre should take advantage of this opportunity,” he said.
He further appealed to all political parties, including Congress and National Conference, to support dialogue with the people of Jammu and Kashmir to bridge gaps and resolve longstanding issues.(KNS).
