Kupwara, Apr 01 (KNS): Kupwara District Chess Association organised mega chess festival under the aegis of All J&K Chess Association at My New School Drugmulla Kupwara, the sport event was organised by KDCA and Sponsored by J&K state sports council and co-sponsored by My New School.

The event was held first time in district Kupwara where as many as 12 schools of the district participated in this festival. The main aim of this chess event was to inculcate the mental exercise and to make students mental well being.

The organizers believe that this type of event will go a long way in luring youth towards sports and will also lead them towards positive direction and they thanked Sports Council & My New School for supporting the event and raising infrastructure.

The festival was inaugurated by principal degree college Kupwara and on conclude the guest of honor was Adv Umar Farooq Malik. (KNS)
