Mayor Mattu inspects SMC offices, checks attendance of employees

Srinagar, Feb 11 (KNS): Mayor Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu today conducted inspection of various sections of central office Srinagar Municipal Corporation here at Karan Nagar.
Mayor went from section to section to check the attendance of the employees.
While finding many absent from duty, Mattu has directed to seek an explanation from the absentees.
He further said that this would be the last chance and a warning given to the absent lot, otherwise a showcase notice will be issued next time on finding any one absent from their duties and also one day salary will be deducted.
Since SMC is one of the essential services rendered to the people, remaining absent or not being duty bound shall not be tolerated.
Mattu later visited various areas of Srinagar viz-a-viz Lal Chowk, Jahangir Chowk, Soura etc to take stock of allied functions of the Corporation including sanitation and various other ongoing projects.
He also went to M.A Road Women's College to provide assistance as requested by the Principal of the college for drainage related matters to be discussed and resolved.
He also went to see fire victims at Gilli Kadal Zadibal.
An SMC employee who suffered stroke was also attended by Mayor at SKIMS hospital
Besides this, Mattu also chaired a meeting with all the ward officers of the Corporation to take ward wise sanitation review and also discussed thoroughly about the preparedness of snow clearance in view of snow forecast in the coming days. (KNS)
