Maulana Ghulam Qadir Receives Lifetime Achievement Award for Pioneering Educational and Social Reforms in Poonch

Poonch, October 8 (KNS) :The Federation of All Private Schools of India organized a high-level event in Srinagar, attended by prominent government and non-government officials from across Jammu and Kashmir. During the program, selected and distinguished private schools were honored for their outstanding services in the field of education.

On this occasion, the Federation of All Private Schools of India—a national-level organization—conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award on Maulana Ghulam Qadir, a distinguished Islamic scholar and eminent educationist, in recognition of his valuable and historic contributions to education and social welfare. The award was received on his behalf by his son, Waheed Ahmad Bandy.

Maulana Ghulam Qadir established an educational institution nearly half a century ago in the remote and underdeveloped border district of Poonch. Under his vision, separate centers were established for religious and modern education, and schools were set up for both boys and girls. Alongside education, Maulana’s service in the field of social welfare has also been noteworthy.

It is a distinct achievement of Maulana that at a time when establishing schools was extremely difficult, he founded not only religious institutions but also modern educational centers. He was particularly committed to promoting girls’ education, an effort he pursued with sincerity and dedication. As a result, today there is hardly any part of the state where Maulana’s students are not found.
