Srinagar, May 24 (KNS): Chairman of JKLF Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly condemned the prolonged incarceration of JKLF Deputy Chief Organizer Siraj ud din Mir and district president Baramulla Abdul Rashid Magloo who are languishing at Kotbalwal jail under PSA.
In a statement issued to KNS, he also expressed serious concern over the deteriorating heath of another JKLF leader sheikh Nazir Ahmad who is serving a life sentence at Kotbalwal jail.
It is worth to mention that Police arrested Siraj ud din Mir in a nocturnal raid on his residence at Karhama Tangmarg on 2nd April 2018 while as Abdul Rashid Magloo was arrested from his residence on 29th March 2018.
Both were slapped with PSA for participating in funeral prayers of a martyr.
Terming the slapping of black law PSA on JKLF leaders Siraj Ud din Mir and Abdul Rashid Magloo and prolonging their incarceration as ‘highhandedness’ of police and civil administration, Malik said that a 70-year-old political leader Siraj ud Din Mir who is ailing from many ailments and Abdul Rashid Magloo who met with an accident recently and is taking various medicines are being penalized for their political belief and punished during holy month of Ramazan.
Similarly another JKLF leader Nazir Ahmad Sheikh who is serving a life sentence and has been shifted to Kotbalwal jail is also tolerating the apathy of rulers and his health is also fast deteriorating which is a serious matter of concern.
JKLF chairman said that the way police is oppressing political activists and is pushing Kashmiris to the wall is ridiculous and in fact an act of promoting violence in Jammu Kashmir, which is highly condemnable.
JKLF chairman also condemned the ongoing oppressive tactics used by police, army and other forces against common people during the holy month of Ramazan.
“Police, Army, SOG and other forces have made the lives of people hell at many Kulgam villages like Badroo, Mudibugh, Yambrach, Kaimoh, Khudwani, Owoora and various parts of Srinagar including Tenkipora where nocturnal raids, desecration of people’s privacy that too during Ramazan and arresting youth has become a common practice,” Malik said.
JKLF chairman termed these nocturnal raids and arrests as ‘worst aggression’ and said that the rulers, their police and civil administration should feel some shame on these anti-people and anti-Muslim acts during holy month of Ramazan.
Meanwhile, Malik expressed his heartfelt grief over the demise of a well-known social activist of Doda Saidullah Wani R/O Ghat Doda who breathed his last in Jammu.
“A symbol of sacrifice and resilience Saidullah Wani sacrificed his three sons and a daughter who embraced martyrdom in an Indian military operation, first of its kind in Jammu region in December 1990,” he said.
Malik while paying tributes to this symbol of sacrifices and struggle expressed condolences to his bereaved family and also prayed for his heavenly abode. (KNS)
