Srinagar, Nov 13 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik Monday condemned the arrest of Abdul Sattar Sher Gujri, who was summoned to a police station on November 11 and arrested there.
According to the statement issued to KNS, Malik said that Gujri was told that that there were multiple cases registered against him. “Strangely, he had been released a few weeks ago when the same cases were pending against him,” he said.
JKLF Chairman described the arrest of Abdul Sattar as ‘sheer political persecution’ and as ‘a typical example of State terrorism’.
“Sattar is a popular political worker and a responsible office bearer of JKLF whose arrest is only reflective of the ongoing political repression in Kashmir,” Malik said.
He asked Jammu Kashmir Police to stop harassing pro-Azadi political workers and their families.
Malik asked the local policemen to stop hiding behind the façade of rule of law and refrain from inhuman persecution of Azadi loving people.
Meanwhile, Malik also expressed grief at the sad demise mother of Greater Kashmir staffer, Ali Muhammad Dar and father of Greater Kashmir Reporter, Shabir Ibn Yusuf. (KNS)
