New Delhi, September 14: AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi today said that Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda has taken cognisance of the issue concerning the resumption of work at Medical College Handwara.

In a communication addressed to Er. Rashid, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), the Union Health Minister acknowledged receipt of his letter dated 10 August 2026 regarding the resumption of work at Medical College Handwara and stated that “I am getting the matter examined by the division concerned.”

The communication bears FTS No. 5062485/2026/VIP/HFM and is dated 02 September 2026.

Reacting to the development, AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi said, “We welcome the prompt acknowledgement by the Union Health Minister. Inam said that MP Er. Rashid has consistently raised issues concerning healthcare infrastructure in North Kashmir and expressed hope that the intervention of the Union Health Ministry would help remove the bottlenecks affecting the project.

“Medical College Handwara is not merely an infrastructure project. It is a vital healthcare institution for the people of Handwara, Kupwara and adjoining areas. The government must ensure that the examination of the matter translates into concrete action on the ground,” he added. (KNS)
