Jammu, Feb 13 (KNS): MLA Kokernag, Abdul Rahim Rather, today chaired a meeting at Jammu, to review the progress of works in his constituency that the Chief Minister has committed during the recent past.
The projects/works that came under discussion include the construction of Mughal type garden on the land of Hill View Park Kokernag, construction of Bus Stand and a Mini Secretariat at Kokernag.
He was informed that the land for the bus stand and the Mini Secretariat has been identified and the building plan for the Mini Secretariat stands prepared. He asked the concerned to earmark some additional area adjacent to the Bus Stand for construction of a Shopping Complex.
Establishment of South Campus of SKUAST at Sagam was also reviewed in the meeting. The revenue authorities were directed to prepare and communicate the necessary revenue papers in this regard. He asked the revenue authorities to expedite the land acquisition process for Degree College Larnoo and its early handing over to the Department of Higher Education for its further development.
He asked the officers of the NHIDCL & the Department of R&B to start the process for the Construction of a bypass from Bus Stand Site to Zalangam on the Highway to facilitate decongestion of Kokernag Proper. He asked them to develop the shoulders and wings of the roads and go for ornamental plantation on their both sides.
It was informed that the installation of the Solar Lights, Electric Poles and Transformers, under the directions of the CM, were under the process of installation and would be completed within this month. It was communicated that the PHE Department has prepared the Project Report for the Larnoo Water Supply Scheme and is expected to get a sanction very soon. The projects of the Regional Water Supply Scheme Watnard, the WSS Town Kokernag and the Right Brenghi Irrigation Canal are under the process of sanction with the funding agencies, it was told in the meeting.
MLA Kokernag laid an emphasis for the early completion of the projects that came under discussion. He asked the officers to work steadily for the quick implementation and early completion of the commitments made by the Hon’ble Chief Minister to the public.
The meeting was attended by the SDM Kokernag, CEO TDA Kokernag, EO MC Kokernag, and the officers from National Highways Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd, R&B Division Vailoo and PHE Department. (KNS)
