Jammu, Nov 8 (KNS) : The 52nd J&K UT Badminton Championship 2025 for Seniors (Men & Women), Sub-Junior (U-13 & U-15), and Mini (U-11) categories commenced today at the Badminton Hall, Indoor Sports Complex, M.A. Stadium, Jammu. The championship is being organized by the Badminton Association of J&K in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council.

The event was inaugurated by Nuzhat Gul, Secretary, J&K Sports Council, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her address, She appreciated the efforts of the organizers for providing a vibrant competitive platform to young shuttlers from across Jammu and Kashmir.

“Such tournaments play a crucial role in channelizing the energy of our youth in the right direction. Prominent among those present on the occasion were Dr. O.D. Sharma, Vice President BAI & Chairman BAJK, along with other members of the Association and officials from the J&K Sports Council.

Around 200 players from different districts of Jammu and Kashmir are competing in various events scheduled from 8th to 12th November 2025. The championship features matches in Singles and Doubles for U-11 and U-13 categories, and Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles for U-15, Men, and Women categories.

The badminton players were excited to showcase their skills, and the stadium was abuzz with enthusiastic spectators and parents, creating an energetic and cheerful atmosphere throughout the matches.

The competitions aim to encourage sports participation among youth, foster healthy rivalry, and identify emerging badminton talent from the region. The event will conclude on 12th November 2025 with the final matches and prize distribution ceremony.(KNS)
