Kupwara, Nov 21 (KNS): Security forces foiled a potential terror plot and recovered a large haul of weapons from a hideout near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Handwara-Nowgam sector, officials said.
Based on specific intelligence, a joint operation was launched by Handwara Police and the Naugam brigade of the Indian Army in the Neeriyan Forest area along the LoC. During the operation, the team busted a major hideout, leading to the seizure of the following arms and ammunition: two M-series rifles with four magazines, two Chinese pistols with three magazines, two hand grenades, and several live rounds.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
An FIR (No. 39/2025) has been registered at Police Station Qalamabad, and further investigations are underway.
Officials said the operation underscores the continued vigilance of security forces along the LoC and their commitment to maintaining peace, public safety, and a terror-free and drug-free environment in the region.(KNS)
