Srinagar, Nov 5 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said that the present atmosphere of peace and development in Jammu and Kashmir has been made possible through years of sacrifice and by following the values of compassion and dialogue taught by India’s spiritual leaders.
Speaking at the International Symposium on Peace, People and Possibilities in J&K at SKICC in Srinagar, Sinha said that lasting peace grows from mutual respect and the ability to live with dignity. The theme of the event, he noted, mirrors the collective aspiration for a prosperous and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir, where every voice contributes to harmony.
He said that the idea of peace is reflected not in words but in daily life when citizens can work freely, pursue opportunities, and live without fear. According to him, the ordinary people of the Union Territory are the real architects of this stability through their determination and shared progress.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Lieutenant Governor credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for steering Jammu and Kashmir toward change, saying the region has moved from unrest to reconstruction. “In the last few years, the impossible has been turned into possible. Places once marked by turmoil now show signs of development, education, and renewed hope,” he said as per KNS.
Sinha called upon citizens to safeguard the calm that has returned, noting that it came at the cost of sacrifices made by security personnel and civilians alike. He said their memory should continue to inspire responsibility and collective care for peace.
He urged the youth to reject extremism and drug abuse, adding that those echoing voices of division do not represent Kashmir’s true spirit. Referring to the unity displayed after the Pulwama attack, Sinha said such togetherness must remain the foundation of Jammu and Kashmir’s future.(KNS)
