Srinagar, Dec 13 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday handed over government appointment letters to family members of terror victims at Lok Bhavan Auditorium, Srinagar, underlining the administration’s commitment to support affected families with employment and rehabilitation.
Sinha said the initiative aims to provide justice, dignity, and livelihood to those who have lost loved ones to terrorism. The programme saw 39 families from the Kashmir division receiving appointment letters, adding to the 41 families in Jammu who were earlier provided jobs.
He also mentioned that nine families impacted by the recent Nowgam blast had been given job letters on Friday. “So far this year, over 200 members of affected families have been provided government employment,” he noted.
Recalling personal interactions with victims, the LG said many families struggled for years after losing family members. “Some children grew up without parents while their families faced extreme hardships. These stories compelled us to ensure genuine victims receive support,” he added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Sinha reaffirmed that properties seized during periods of terrorism will be restored to rightful owners and that even cases without formal FIRs will be examined for rehabilitation. He also stressed the government’s resolve to identify and take strict action against individuals supporting or glorifying terrorism. “We will continue cleansing institutions of anyone linked to the terror ecosystem. Those aiding terrorism will face the harshest consequences,” he said.
The LG highlighted that the administration’s efforts have moved beyond sympathy to tangible support. “This initiative is a tribute to the sacrifice of families who suffered the most. Our goal is to ensure that no family continues to bear the brunt of terrorism,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg, and family members of victims. The programme reflected the government’s focus on timely rehabilitation and restoring faith among terror-affected families in Jammu and Kashmir.(KNS).
