Srinagar, Dec 24 (KNS): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has appointed an inquiry officer to investigate allegations of poor quality nutritional supplies being distributed in various Poshan Projects of Anantnag district.
In an order issued by the Directorate of Mission Poshan J&K, Zaheer Abbas, District Programme Officer, Kulgam, has been appointed as the inquiry officer to conduct a thorough probe into the matter.
The inquiry follows claims made by Anganwadi workers in Anantnag, who had alleged that substandard nutrition items were being supplied to different ICDS (Integrated Child Development Services) projects.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
They had urged the administration to take immediate action and launch a detailed investigation.
According to the government order, a copy of which lies with the Kashmir News Service- KNS, Zaheer Abbas has been directed to submit a comprehensive report, along with specific comments and recommendations, within seven days.
The inquiry is expected to examine procurement, supply quality, storage conditions and distribution mechanisms to ensure that beneficiaries receive safe and adequate nutritional support.(KNS)
