Srinagar, Apr 23 (KNS): Police in Shopian district of South Kashmir recovered a kidnapped girl and handed over her to parents.
Police in a statement issued here on Monday said that Police Station Zainapora received a report from a person stating that his minor daughter (name withheld) was kidnapped. On receipt this information, Police Station Zainapora acted swiftly and a team led by SHO Zainapora under the supervision of SDPO Zainapora started investigation.
After strenuous efforts, the said girl was recovered from Sogam area of Kupwara from the possession of kidnapper.
The girl was handed over to her parents.
Accused person was arrested and taken into police custody for further investigation.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 17/2018 under section 363 RPC stands registered in Police Station Zainapora. (KNS)
