Khimber Plantation Drive: A Green Step Forward under Sewa Parv 2025

Srinagar, Sept 30 (KNS) : A day after the successful plantation drive at Khimber under SEWA PARV 2025, the spirit of collective action continues to resonate. The event, jointly organised by JKLCMA and NLCO, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, volunteers, and environmental enthusiasts who came together with a single resolve; to make Khimber greener.

The Chief Guest,Waseem Raja, JKAS, Joint Director Tourism Kashmir, administered the SEWA PARV pledge and reminded participants of the inseparable bond between ecology and tourism, saying:
“Environment is synonymous with tourism. A greener Kashmir is the foundation of a sustainable tourism industry.”

NLCO Chairman, Manzoor Wangnoo, extended his gratitude to all those who joined the initiative, especially the students whose energy made the event a grand success. He remarked:
“Every sapling planted is a symbol of hope. With collective will, we can expand Kashmir’s green cover and secure a healthier tomorrow.”

The drive was graced by distinguished personalities alongside the Chief Guest, Waseem Raja, JKAS, Joint Director Tourism Kashmir, including SFA Gillani (IFS, Retd.), former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests J&K; Dr. Farooq A.
