Srinagar, Sep 07 (KNS): Awami National Conference (SNC) Presidernt, Khalida Shah has paid tributes to her father and former chief minister, Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah on his 36th death anniversary.
In a statement issued to KNS, Khalida Shah said that late Abdullah’s pro-nationalism and his sacrifices for attaining justice for the people of the state are part of the history.
She said that had Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah not ensured the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in Indian constitution, the state would not have been enjoying the unique status today. She said that though after his death constitutional and legal framework was for time to time tempered with but still people are conscious and aware of the system.
She added that sometimes running out of emotions people unconsciously forget the facts but ultimately the truth prevails. (KNS)
