Kerala media delegation visits NHPC hydropower projects in Baramulla

Srinagar, Sep 9 (KNS): A media delegation from Kerala on Wednesday visited major hydropower projects of the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) in Baramulla district as part of an ongoing seven-day press tour to Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The delegation visited NHPC's Uri-I and Uri-II projects and received first-hand information about their functioning, infrastructure and contribution to the power sector.

At NHPC Uri-I, Head of Project K Vaitheeswaran welcomed the journalists and briefed them about the ongoing Stage-II works and various activities associated with the project.

The delegation later visited NHPC Uri-II, where Head of Project Rajendra Kumar briefed the journalists about the project, its power generation capacity and its role in meeting the country's energy requirements.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The journalists also visited the dam site and observed the operational aspects of the hydroelectric project.

Later, the delegation visited Kaman Post and had a view of Aman Setu.

The press tour is being organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Kochi, to provide journalists from Kerala an opportunity to undertake first-hand coverage of development initiatives, infrastructure projects and achievements in Jammu and Kashmir.(KNS)
