Says “health condition of jailed leaders worsening”

Srinagar, Dec 05 (KNS): Chairman of JKLF (H), Javaid Ahmad Mir on Wednesday said that the people of Kashmir are getting bullets, pellets and lathis in response of a demand of peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue, saying that the mainstream political parties are using Kashmir issue as vote bank.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Mir who is under house detention from last six days, said that New Delhi has failed to fight with Kashmiris politically and diplomatically. “Lathis, bullets, pellets and measures are being used to choke the space for the Hurriyat loving people who are demanding peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue from last over 70 years,” he said.
He added that despite Pakistan offered talks several times so far, but there was no reciprocation over the offer from India’s side, thus they continued with their oppressive measures.
Mir said that no space has been left for the Kashmiris to register their protest or to press for their demands. “Hartal is an option to mark a protest as all others spaces have been choked. People especially leaders are either placed under house detention or have been taken into the custody,” he said, adding that the health conditions of those who are lodged at different jails including Shabir Ahmad Shah, Syeda Aasiya Andrabi, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and others is getting deteriorated.
He said that several youth especially students have been arrested from Old city in view of Human rights week. (KNS)
