Kashmiri youth must follow footsteps of Prophet Muhammad: Mirwaiz

Srinagar, May 20 (KNS): Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul Islam patron Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that  the foundation of a constructive society can’t be laid until people change their habits and  continuously introspect themselves. He said that those nations won’t change for betterment unless its people decide to bring changes in their habits by doing away with the practices prohibited in Islam  and the best way to reform ourselves is to follow the path of Islam and the teachings of beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Mirwaiz was addressing a seminar organized by Anjuman-e-Nusratul Islam at Islamia High School Rajouri Kadal here in connection with Hafte Shadat , martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed-e-Milat Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Farooq. The seminar was titled “Amal say Zindagi Banti Hai Janat Bhi, Jahanam Bhi” that was presided over by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. In his presidential address, Mirwaiz said that future of every nation is its youth as they hold the key in taking the nation forward

Mirwaiz said that those nations remain far from the development and revolutions where youth remain in slumber and dont take interests in shaping their society for better .Mirwaiz stressed that youth of Kashmir must realize the need following into the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) in every sphere of life so that they achieve success in every field.

Mirwaiz stressed that it was the collective responsibility of Imams, Khateebs, Teachers, students, and parents to play their role in shaping the society and rooting out the social evils that have made its place deep in a place that was known for its moral values.


In the seminar, stydebts from leading educational institutions participated while presentations were made in English urdu and Kashmiri languages.

The first position was bagged by Arbish of Islamia Higher Secondary School Rajouri Kadal, second by Soliha Bashir of RP School Mala Bagh, and third position by Arbena of Harward Educational Institute while fourth position was bagged by Afreen of Green Land Educational Institute.

Those who performed the duty of jury include Engineer Raas Masood,  Muhammad Ashraf Kakroo, and Ghulam Mohiudin. The seminar saw the attendance of prominent citizens and civil society activists that include Moulana Masroor Abbas Ansari,  Mufti Muhammad Javaid, Dr Nazir Ahmed Gilkar, Mufti Ziyaul Haq Nazimi,  Haji Altaf Ahmed, Engineer Muhamamd Ibrahim Shah, Dr G M Khan, and Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon and others. The seminar was moderated by Moulana Syedur Rehman Shams.

Meanwhile, on the occasion, special Shaheed-e-Milat numer—2019 was also released while as Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also released the book written by Moulvi Khazir Muhammad Wani titled—Umuhat-ul-Momineen was also released. (KNS)
