Srinagar, Oct 23 (KNS): Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (JKDFP) has paid rich and glowing tributes to the Martyrs of Bijbehara on their 25th martyrdom anniversary. The party remembered all the martyrs of Kashmir and pledged to take their mission forward till the aim of freedom is achieved.
The Spokesperson of JKDFP said in a statement that it was black day in the history of Kashmir when 53 innocent persons were massacred by Indian forces at north Kashmir’s Bijbehara by firing on them during a peaceful protest. The people who were fired upon and killed ruthlessly were protesting against the continuous seige of revered Dargah Hazratbal Shrine.
Kashmir has become a land of tragedies where Indian forces have massacred people in nook and corner only because they demanded for their political rights. The Indian forces killed people in large numbers at Bijbehara, Hawal, Zakura, Gaw Kadal, Anantnag and Chatti Singhpora to make them surrender before the Indian military might. However the freedom loving people of Kashmir rose after every massacre and are continuously putting forward their just demand of right to self determination backed by the international forum like UN.
The JKDFP Spokesperson expressed surprise that culprits of Bijbehara massacre are rooming free hence encouraging the men in uniform to go ahead with the killings in Kashmir the latest example of which was seen at Kulgam where ten persons were killed by trigger happy forces.
Paying tributes to all the martyrs the JKDFP Spokesperson pledged to take the ongoing movement forward despite all odds until the aim of freedom is achieved. He remembered the martyrs of Bijbehara in particular and prayed for their highest place in the world hereafter. He said that the martyrs of Kashmir have sacrificed their today for the better tomorrow of their fellow beings so it is the joint obligation of people to remember them on every occasion. (KNS)
