Says scores of areas reel under darkness, people bearing brunt of Govt’s non-seriousness

Srinagar, Feb 08 (KNS): Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary has slammed the governor administration over its failure to tackle the situation that emerged due to the fresh snowfall in Kashmir, stating that while helmsmen are in slumber, Valley is witnessing acute paucity of essentials.
In a statement issued to KNS, Kadfeen said the order issued by the administration to curtail fuel supply to vehicles in order to retain it, is an itself a reflection of how the government was sleeping till the disaster knocked its door. He added that due to the non-serious approach exhibited by the administration, common masses are bearing the brunt with scores of areas reeling under darkness and facing acute paucity of drinking water and other essential commodities.
Kadfeen added that there are several far flung hamlets in Kashmir where no government help has reached so far and the inhabitants of these areas have been left to God’s mercy in a most sadistic manner. “Even when the weather department had already predicted inclement weather in Kashmir, why the government didn’t take pre-requisite measures and made ample quality of essential commodities available in Valley particularly in those areas which are snowbound and where help cannot reach at present,” Kadfeen asked.
The Congress leader urged the governor administration to ensure that the restoration of power and water supplies is made at an earliest and snow is cleared from the roads so that connectivity in the far flung areas of Kashmir is made possible without further delay. (KNS)
